Secondskin sign to union black Digital
union black Records are pleased to announce an addition to their family with the recent signing of Glasgow progressive outfit, Secondskin. Their album Captive Audience will be released worldwide in early 2010 via union black Digital marking their debut with the label.
The music of Secondskin combines elements of modern metal, with 70s prog. Often compared to acts as diverse as Oceansize, Pink Floyd, Meshuggah, Tool, Earthtone9 and Porcupine Tree, Secondskin appeal to the thinking music lover. Captive Audience boasts Secondskin’s unique blend of progressive metal and hypnotizing grooves, with what UKMetalUnderground.com describes as: "A powerful work that is both beautiful and unsettling all at once. The vast swathes of atmospheric guitars augmented with a judicious and convincing use of effects and the ultra-defined bass sound all meld seamlessly to offer a rich sonic tapestry that draws the listener in with a succession of seductive sounds and textures."

Birmingham's Long Day Fear have inked a deal with our new division - union black Digital.

All proceeds from their debut single, 'Weathered' (released 15th December 2009) are being donated to Help For Heroes in aid of veterans of the British Armed Forces, a cause supported by both the band and union black Records.
